2022 Chevy Trailblazer
The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer might not be the largest SUV in its class or have the most raw power, but those are two superlatives that seem to matter less and less in today's SUV market. While drivers once demanded bigger, beefier vehicles year after year, the appetite for conspicuously large SUVs has dried up a little, with the appeal of the compact crossover gaining more and more traction in the last decade. Chevy took notice, launching the Trailblazer comeback in 2021 to give drivers the affordable and adventurous SUV they desire.
Performance
The 2022 Trailblazer's interior and cargo space make it a true standout in its segment, especially at the price. While features naturally improve as one moves up through the trims, even the base LS model features a host of infotainment, comfort, and safety features that wouldn't be out of place in some luxury vehicles. The SUV's trunk can accommodate an impressive 25.3 cubic feet of cargo, increasing to 54.4 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down. At most trim levels, the front passenger seat can also be folded down, making it easy to stow long, awkward items and giving the Trailblazer impressive versatility.
Safety
While there are a host of available safety features drivers can add at their discretion, every Trailblazer comes equipped with Chevy Safety Assist. This safety suite includes six basic driver assistance functions:
- Following Distance Indicator
- Forward Collision Alert
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Lane Keep Assist
- Lane Departure Warning
Activ
The sporty ACTIV trim gives the 2022 Trailblazer an off-road-ready makeover. Not only does the trim see an upgrade to a larger 155-horsepower, 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, but it also features a fully redesigned suspension, heavy-duty skid plates, and available all-wheel drive. The upgraded engine provides a nice bit of get-up-and-go over the standard 137-horsepower, 1.2-liter engine, so even if you never plan on hitting the dusty trail in your 2022 Trailblazer, you'll still appreciate it next time you're trying to get up to highway speed.
